Anshun Overview
Situated in the central west of Guizhou Province China, Anshun City has an area of 9.269 sq km and a population of 2.6 million. Since ancient timew, it has been a strategically important city in Central Guizhou, known as the "throat of Yunnan and the belly of Guizhou".
As a top tourist city of China, Anshun has varied and abundant tourism resorces, such as lots of typical karst geological landscapes, cruisscrossed rivers and canyons, and peaks and stone forests scattered all over. The scenic zone embraces over 100 waterfalls; more than 1,200 karst caves, three national scenic and historic interest zones - Huangguoshu, Longgong (Dragon Palace) and Getu River; three provincial scenic and historic interest zones - Huajiang Grand Canyon, Tiantai Mountain-Sila River, and Suoshai; the Guanling National Geopark; and the Nin-dragon Mountain Forest Park.
Anshun is inhabited by many ethnic groups. The Gelao, Miao and Buyei minority peoples, who has lived thand procreated on this land for a long time, have inherited their unusual traditional culture and customs, and nurtured varied and colorful ethic lifestyles. Known as the "large natural air-conditioner", Anshun has an average annual tempreature of 14-16 °C, high negative oxygen ions and low radicalization. It is suitable for tourists to visit Anshun all year round. Anshun has perfect tourism and reception facilities in terms of food, hotel, trasportation, sightseeing, shopping and recreation.
