Hongya Cave Stilted House Complex Travel Guide

Hongya Cave is the landmark of Chongqi. It is not a cave, but the featured building. Built in 2300 years ago, it witnesses the history and development of the city. Featured as the stilt style buildings, the Hongya Cave is divided into 11 storeys. Facing with the Jialing River, this building extends 600 meters long and covers 60,000 square meters.

If you watched the animated film, Spirited Away before, you will find some familiar scenes here. You can take the elevator from the bottom to the top. The first floor is close to the bank of Jialing River. It is comfortable to walk along the river during summer. from the second floor to fourth floor, snack bars, hot pot restaurants and souvenir shops are the main attractions for visitors. from fifth floor to eighth floor, main buildings are hotels. But from the ninth floor to top floor, it is best place to see the river view.
