China Museum of Shipping Culture Travel Guide

The museum is located on the eastern side of Maxian Mountain in the Mawei Economic and Technological Development Zone in Fuzhou. It is the first museum with shipping culture as its theme in China. The five-stroy building looks like a giant warship on the sea. Alarge number of rare objects, photos and models are displayed with advanced acoustical, optical and electronic devices to show great achievements China has made in science, technology, education, manufacture and translation related to the shipping industry. The museum is also an edcation base of patriotis. Next to the museum is the Zhaozhong Memorial Hall where the remains of the Chinese soldiers who died in the Majiang Campaign on the sea during the Qing Dynasty.
