Six Harmonies Pagoda

Six Harmonies Pagoda Travel Guide

Six Harmonies Pagoda  which located by the side of Qiantang River of Hangzhou, is a perfect symbol of brick and wood architecture in ancient China.
The name "six harmonies" comes from the six Buddhist ordinances, meaning "harmonies of the heaven, earth, east, west, south and north". Unfortunately, it was destroyed in war, what we see today is rebuilt in 1153 A.D. With 59.89 meters high with 13 stories, the pagoda is the best place to have a bird-eyes-view of the scenery around Qiantang River.

Upon ascending the pagoda, visitors will have a spectacular view of the Qiantang River Bridge spanning the surging tides of the Qiantang River. Near by the Six Harmonies Pagoda an exhibition center detailing ancient pagodas in China was set up in recently upon Yuelun Hill. So visitors can visit the Six Harmonies Pagoda and then learn of the various ancient pagodas architectural styles to be found within China.

Looking out from the top of the pagoda, sightseers can see as far as the misty horizon, enjoying an unforgettable, breathtaking experience. Since 1961 the Six Harmonies Pagoda has been under the state protection as a state-level cultural site.
