Jade River Travel Guide

The Jade River also known as Jade Dragon Kashgar river, got the name is from ancient time because is the origin place of Hetian white jade. The Jade River is the major producing area of white jade in China, most of the gray jade, Grey-white jade, topaz jasper and more than 36 kinds of Hetian jade are from there. Especially the Suet Jade which is getting famous since before. After flooding every year, which will attract lots of people come to river to exploiting jade.

The river is originated from the north slope of Kunlun Mountain and totally length is 504 km. The annual runoff of 2.26 billion cubic meters which makes more than 70,000 gets benefit from the irrigation. And the river is from south to north through Hetian oasis, finally join into Tarim River which is one of the important origin river of Tarim river.
