Yichang Transportation
By plane
Yichang Sanxia Airport is located on Xiaoting District. It is 26 km far to Yichang city center taking about 40min by car and 55 km to Three Gorges Dam. The airport code is YIH or ZHYC. There are several airlines in Yichang airport connecting to other places including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Xian, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Hong Kong. The airlines from Yichang to Korea and Japan are on plan and would be sailed in the future.
By Train
Yichang train station is in the east of Yichang city, about 10 km far from downtown. The public bus of No.1, No.9 and No.37 get across the train station. Tourists can take bullet trains to Yichang now. The bullet trains between Shanghai and Yichang take about 8.5 hours and cost about CNY 348.5 per person for second class ticket, CNY 419.5 per person for first class ticket in 2014. Bullet trains between Yichang and Wuhan take about 2.5 hours and CNY90 to CNY 110 per person in different tickets.
Tourists can also take bullet train from Yichang to Nanjing, Shenzhen and Hangzhou. For more detailed information of the trains, please feel free to contact us.
By coach
The Coach station for long distance in Yichang is two blocks south of the train station. General speaking, we do not recommend tourists taking coach in Yichang unless your next destination is Wuhan, Three Gorge Dam or some places not far away to Yichang city.
By Ship
Yichang is a very important over stop for Yangtze cruise that most short-cruises are end or start in Yichang. There are two docks in Yichang. One is New century dock, also named as Xinshiji dock.
Ships of Victoria series, Century series, Presidents series and Gold series are porting in New century dock which is about 33km from Yichang downtown.
The M.S. series ships are mostly porting at Tiaohua village dock, where is about 29km from Yichang downtown and 19 about from Yichang train station.
