Yueyang lies in the Northeast of Hunan Province, and owns the nickname “Door of Northern Xiang”. It’s called Baling in ancient time and built in 2500 years ago. Yueyang has a very extraordinary geography location, Mufu Mountain lies in its East, and Dongtinghu Lake is in its West, it connects to Changjiang River in the North. It’s a very important water transportation spot in the midstream of Changjiang River, therefore, it’s also a critical part of economic belt of Changjiang River. Yueyang is known as “a land flowing with fish and rice”.
Yueyang has very pretty scenery, it not only has famous mountains and lakes and buildings, but also ancient celebrities and good literature, which makes Yueyang a well-known tourism city domestically and overseas. As it has achieved good development of the ecological economic circle and economic belt of Changjiang River, Yueyang is moving forward to a healthier and stronger level. It was awarded to be the happiest city and the best soft power of culture city in the year of 2014, and it’s the only city in China that has this two honors.
