Yinzhen Tea of Junshan Mountain (silver needle tea)It grows in the Junshan Mountain of Dongtinghu Lake. When making tea, the tea leaves flow on the water uprightly, and then it sinks in, and flows up again, and it goes up and down 3 times in total.Yinzhen tea was popular in Tang Dynasty, and it used to be given to nobility as tribute. In 1956, it was awarded gold award in the international fair in Leipzig.
Orchid DaikonOrchid daikon is produced in Dongtinghu Lake area. It has thin skin and the daikon is snowy and tender. It’s called orchid daikon because it’s like a blooming orchid after being cut by knife. It’s marinating by mixing chilli powder and salt and sesame oil. It has been very popular in Hunan province and Hubei province because it’s delicious and appetizing. It was awarded silver medal in the China Food Expo in 1988.
