Zhaoxing Dong village Travel Guide

Zhaoxing Dong village is one of the biggest Dong communities in Guizhou with more than 12,000 households and 6,000 populations, well-known as “first Dong village”. Zhaoxing Dong village is located in the basin of mountains, a river passing by the village, Diaojiaolou(stilted buildings) randomly stands around the village.
In 2001, Zhaoxing Dong villages and Zhaoxing drum tower complex has rank to the list of Guinness Book of World Records. In 2005, Zhao village was awarded as one of the “Six beauty villages in China” by China National Geographic. In 2007, Zhaoxing villages was rated as one of the “most 33 attractive destinations in the world” by both National Geographic and National Geographic Travel.
Zhaoxing is not famous for its architecture, but also ethnic song and dance and drama. Dong dance and Kam Dong choirs is also performed on the square in front of drum tower nearby the stage of Dong Opera.

Traffic:

Bordering Guangxi province via Guilin and Liuzhou, tourits get reach Zhaoxing from Guilin and Liuzhou as well as Guiyang.

Zhaoxing belongs to sub-tropical monsoon climate; it is rainy and humid all the year. Please wear suitable hiking shoes or climbing boot for tour in Zhaoxing.
